Interactive

Interactive elements can be a useful stylistic device for increasing users' attention and giving them a deeper understanding of the content, especially if it would otherwise be perceived as rather boring or dry. A quiz, survey, game, or scrollytelling can make content more exciting and increase engagement.

Humboldt heute

Customer: Raufeld Medien GmbH, for Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

The Humboldt heute microsite, which we developed on behalf of Raufeld Medien GmbH for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, was honored with the 2019 BCM Award. The website was developed in 2018 for the following anniversary year marking Humboldt's 250th birthday. The bilingual website received a huge and positive response worldwide during its run in 2019. Many prominent politicians and scientists responded to the call to contribute a text, image, or video on the topic “Humboldt today, for me that means ...”, including the then-incumbent German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Humboldt heute - Scrollytelling

Customer: Raufeld Medien GmbH, for Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Part of the microsite was the story of Humboldt's great journey to America, which began in 1799. To convey this in the most exciting and appealing way possible, we were commissioned as a technical service provider, together with graphic designer Dirk Aschoff (studio Askja), to tell the story in the form of a scrollytelling. For this purpose, we developed a scrollytelling framework in JavaScript, into which the content could then be flexibly integrated.

Humboldt Kosmos - Picture Puzzle

Customer: Raufeld Medien GmbH, for Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

We developed an interactive AI hidden object game for the online edition of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's Humboldt Kosmos magazine. The challenge in this commissioned work for Raufeld was to develop an interactive content element that could be seamlessly embedded into the foundation's TYPO3 website. Since it was a hidden object game, it had to be viewable and navigable in multiple zoom levels, similar to a map application, so that even the smallest details could be explored.

Do you need interactive content or need to convey complex data in a simple and appealing way? We would be happy to work with you to find the right solution.
